Uploaded: 23 December 2004 A most terrible thing has happened.A play which depicts rape and murder inside a temple has been shut down in Birmingham, UK, by death threats and violence. Even the reading of this play makes the playwrights grasp on life more fragile. In this best of all worlds, the democratic west where Bush and Blair defend our freedom, surely the plot has been lost. What has Iraq won us? There can be only one message, religion kills, Blair and Bush being Religious christians. But if religion kills what is its point? For religion is only of worth to the living, it has no relevance to the dead. So what are these terrible people defending? Their faith? If you don't believe what I believe I will kill you, or, if you cast my faith in a jaded light I will kill you? Christ on a bike, and I say that as a Christian, what on Earth is going on? If this playwright is murdered, killed by deliberate intent (and even to think it or desire it in any way is a faith enactment within the soul), then she will have been murdered within the temple of the faith of those who murder her. Thus justifying her play. She will be a martyr, and embraced by any kind of just God, and her murderers the villains. Did I miss something? Terrorism? The title of this link is ironic, and that seems to me to need saying in this dumb arsed Blair and Bush, religious, stupid, world. Happy Christmas.
