Welcome to Mr. Blair's New Labour, Britain's new Right wing party.
The trend toward increasing the centralization of power in Britain has
been going on since the days of Margaret Thatcher, accelerating during
John Major's term in power, but Blair and his cronies have raised it to
new levels of madness and stupidity since coming to office.
Many of us suspect that Tony Blair is the would be future President of
Britain. His high handed approach to the reins of power increases
exponentially.
"Blair governments have always been run from Downing Street, not
from around the cabinet table. Faced with a crisis, Mr Blair has often
seized the wheel from his ministers. The list of such interventions ranges
wide: Northern Ireland, foot and mouth, modernisation of the NHS. But
foreign and defence policy are his favourites: Kosovo, Sierra Leone and
missile defence were all his issues too, even before the September 11
crisis."
